Chesapeake Concours: In the Rear View and Ahead
Thank you to all of the automotive enthusiasts that traveled from all points across our region to gather at The Winery at Elk Manor for the inaugural Chesapeake Concours on Sunday. We celebrated our common automotive enthusiasm – among new and old friends - to benefit the Chesapeake Renaissance Project. It all would not be possible without our gracious hosts, Simon and Gretchen Tusha. The Winery at Elk Manor team - led by John Hartman - and the volunteers from Supercars on State Street - led by Ed Ross - combined forces to provide parking direction, admissions, registration, grounds maintenance and all of the behind-the-scenes activities. Thank you for your dedication, fast and flexible thinking, quick actions to calls of duty, all the miles on your legs and the love shown toward the process of bringing forward a new event.
Thank you to the helicopter team and all associated with the flight and photography. Thank you to Eli Orzechowski who was the photographer staged at the entry banner and thank you to the social media contributors that were present throughout the day. Thank you to Fast Eddie’s Pit Beef and Rouge Fine Catering for the service of food and beverage. Thank you to DJ Stevie D for providing the tunes. I may forget someone but for now, last, but not least, thank you to Mother Nature for providing perfect weather.
Plans are underway to return to The Winery at Elk Manor for the summer edition of the Chesapeake Concours. The target is the final weekend of August, 2016. You’ll see updates at www.elkmanor.com/#!events/xl6od, horsepowering.com/special-gatherings, on the upcoming Facebook event page, in the Hunt Valley Horsepower newsletter and during gatherings of Hunt Valley Horsepower.
The event will progressively evolve to include judging of a traditional Concours d’Elegance area with additional participation within what may be considered a Cars & Coffee area. It’s an event that continues to be under construction. You can witness the evolution for yourself. Take the ride with us. Once again, thank you for participating in the inaugural Chesapeake Concours. We’ll see you down the road!
