Chesapeake Concours - 5 Weeks Away

We’re 5 weeks away from our return to The Winery at Elk Manor in North East, Maryland for the Summer Edition of Chesapeake Concours!  On Saturday, August 27, share your automotive passions with owners and enthusiasts from throughout our region within the concours and Cars & Coffee-heritage gathering areas.  While taking in the waterfront views of the 163-acre winery, you'll enjoy the automobiles that span from antiques to the modern day.  Add in music by the Freddie Stevens Trio and fantastic food and beverages.  We all love our automobiles.  It’s time to elevate your experience.

Make it a day with the family.  Make it day with the car club.  Make it a day with just you and your husband, wife, boyfriend or girlfriend.  It’s a day to set aside all of the ‘busy-ness’ that comes with business and everyday life.  It’s time to relax and fully immerse yourself into the experience.  Special times are ahead.

As automotive enthusiasts, our minds are tuned to cruise.  Much of our region has quality cruising roads and the road options between Hunt Valley and the winery certainly inspire the cruising mentality.  While you’re welcome to travel from your location of choice, if convenient, you’re also welcome to cruise with the Hunt Valley caravan that departs from Joe’s Crab Shack at 8:45 AM.  [It is perfectly fitting that we’ll depart from a crab shack to later arrive at the home of crabs, the Chesapeake Bay.]

Activities begin at 10 AM and they’ll continue rolling until 6 PM.  The Freddie Stevens Trio will begin delivering a pleasant lineup of jazz and standards at 10:30 AM.  Through the morning, the arrival of automobiles will set the visual tone as they’re laid out along the rolling landscape.  Watch a sailboat glide by.  The sights, the sounds.  Stroll with a beverage in hand alongside your favorite people.  Place your mind there now.  Sinatra would say, “This is my kinda scene, baby.”

Now you’re asking, “Will, this all sounds great.  How do I register?”  The registration process is quick and easy.  Visit The Winery at Elk Manor website at www.elkmanor.com/#!events/xl6od and from there, click on “Buy Tickets Now”.  Admission for all persons 16 and older is $20.  Kids 15 and under have free admission.  Spectators are also welcome to purchase tickets.  Proceeds support the Chesapeake Renaissance Project.  For registrants, you are afforded the option of an early-entry time of 8 to 10 AM to setup if you so choose.

As always, do not hesitate to contact me with questions.  You may send an e-mail to will@elkmanor.com and I’ll reply ASAP.  For more information on The Winery at Elk Manor, please visit elkmanor.com.  If you have never been to the winery, get ready for the stunning views.  You may want to consider comfortable footwear since the grounds are well worth traveling.
